The Youth Policy Institute has been chosen to be Power Morphicon’s charity for 2012! Each year Power Morphicon chooses a children’s charity for our special Sunday Charity Auction. The auction will have many items and signed memorabilia from the Power Rangers TV series, as well as donated items from our vendors, guests and sponsors. Representatives from the Youth Policy Institute will be on-hand during the show, so be sure to come up and see what you can do to help!

The Youth Policy Institute (YPI) provides education, training and technology services to lift families out of poverty. Since 2001, YPI has accomplished this by serving families in Los Angeles at 125 program sites throughout the city. Significantly more than 51% of the YPI clients are classified as Low and Moderate Income (80% or less of the Area Median Income of Los Angeles County in 2012, which is $64,800 for a family of four). YPI has an annual budget of $35 million (including affiliated charter schools) and offers families saturation, place- based education and training services in the areas of afterschool, charter and pilot schools, job training, summer jobs for youth, physical education, adult education, computer literacy, case management, parenting, tutoring, and college preparation. Each year, YPI helps more than 40,000 youth and adults through these programs. (YPI) provides education, training and technology services to lift families out of poverty.
